Police in Elk Grove probe fatal car-bicycle crash
The Elk Grove Police Department was called to the scene of a collision between a vehicle and a bicyclist early Friday morning. The incident took place on Calvine Road between Bader Road and Bradshaw Road around 2:33 a.m. The victim, a 39-year-old man from Sacramento, was hit by a car while sitting on his bike in the roadway. The driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene, is cooperating with authorities, and no charges have been filed. Unfortunately, the bicyclist was pronounced dead by officials upon arrival. The Sacramento County Coroner's Office will release the identity of the deceased. The driver has not displayed any signs of impairment, and speed is not believed to have played a role in the collision.
