Police: Driver causes collision in Northwest El Paso after failing to stop at intersection
In El Paso, Texas, a tragic incident unfolded last Thursday when the driver of a tow truck failed to stop in time at an intersection, leading to a chain reaction crash involving 12 vehicles. Sadly, this resulted in the death of one individual and injuries to over seven others. The driver involved in the crash has been identified by the police as Alfredo Campos, 28. The incident occurred when a white semi-truck and a black trailer broke down on Loop 375 early in the morning, prompting the need for a tow truck to assist in removing them. However, for reasons unknown, the tow truck driver was unable to stop as it neared the intersection of Loop 375 and North Desert Road. Tragically, a 65-year-old passenger in the tow truck lost their life in the collision. A total of seven individuals, five men and two women, sustained injuries in the accident, although initially, it was reported that eight were injured. At present, Campos has not faced any charges in connection with the crash, as the investigation remains ongoing. This marks the 22nd fatality of the year, compared to 23 at the same time last year.
