Police disclose driver's identity in deadly horse-drawn carriage crash

The Marshall County Sheriff's Department shared information about a deadly accident that occurred east of Bourbon yesterday evening. At around 5:31 p.m. on Monday, a 911 call reporting a vehicle collision with injuries was received by the Marshall County Central Dispatch Center. Responding to the call were the Marshall County Sheriff's Department, Bourbon Police, Bourbon Fire, and Lutheran EMS, who all headed to the scene at 8th Road near Apple Road for further investigation. Upon inspection at the location, it was discovered that a 2002 Ford F-150 traveling west on 8th Road crashed into the back of a horse-drawn carriage carrying multiple passengers, including the pickup's driver, 41-year-old Jarrett Sutton of Rochester. The carriage, pulled by a single horse, was occupied by Aden and Mary Chupp of Nappanee, who were thrown out and pronounced deceased on-site. The Marshall County Sheriff's Department continues to probe the details of this collision.
