Police chase results in collision and blaze at Avondale store
A tragic incident occurred in Avondale overnight where a car collided with a building, resulting in one fatality and another individual sustaining serious injuries. The Phoenix police were in pursuit of the driver before the crash. The vehicle, which caught fire upon impact, was followed by a police helicopter onto Interstate 10. The driver crashed into a store near Dysart and Buckeye roads where the fire spread, causing significant damage to the Dodge City Market. Firefighters managed to extinguish the fire, and both occupants of the vehicle were hospitalized for their injuries. Unfortunately, the passenger, a teenage boy, passed away, while the adult driver is in critical condition. The investigation into the crash is ongoing, and charges are pending against the driver upon their release from the hospital.
