Police chase in northern county culminates in St. Louis crash; two hurt

A police chase that originated in north St. Louis County on Saturday morning culminated in a severe collision in St. Louis City near North Broadway and East Taylor Avenue, said authorities. According to reports, two individuals were injured in the accident, with one sustaining critical wounds. The pursuit was triggered around 10:45 a.m. after St. Louis County officers identified a vehicle connected to an earlier shooting and home invasion on Lorna Lane. Upon trying to pull over the vehicle, the driver fled, leading to a chase that ended when the suspect's vehicle crashed after crossing into St. Louis City. Both occupants of the vehicle were hospitalized for their injuries. Fortunately, no officers were injured in either jurisdiction during the chase. A thorough investigation into the crash will be conducted by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department's Force Investigative Unit and Accident Reconstruction specialists. Meanwhile, the St. Louis County Police will oversee the criminal inquiry into the initial shooting and home invasion incidents that triggered the pursuit.
