Police car from Oakland involved in accident on Interstate 580
On Tuesday, there was a collision between an Oakland police car and a silver Acura SUV, according to police. The California Highway Patrol reported that the Acura driver was speeding and crashed into the OPD car around 11:15 a.m. on Interstate Highway 580 at Park Boulevard, also hitting a sign on the right-hand shoulder. The Acura driver sustained minor head and hand injuries, while two officers were taken to the hospital for evaluation. Both vehicles were moderately damaged, and police are unsure if drugs or alcohol played a role in the incident.
