Plane crashes at Kalispell City Airport

UPDATE: 3:08 p.m. - August 11, 2025 Two individuals received minor injuries and were treated following a small plane crash in Kalispell on Monday afternoon. According to MTN's Sean Wells at the crash site, Kalispell Fire Chief Jay Hagen shared that a small plane was in the process of landing at Kalispell City Airport when an unexpected event occurred, leading to the crash. The plane skidded along the runway, collided with another aircraft, and caught fire, spreading to a grassy area nearby. Emergency responders from Kalispell police and fire departments, along with crews from Evergreen, Smith Valley, and Whitefish fire departments, arrived promptly at the scene. Fortunately, all four passengers on the crashed plane were able to evacuate safely, and no one was inside the stationary aircraft that was struck. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will be conducting the investigation into the incident. Sheriff Brian Heino from Flathead County mentioned that the current status of injuries resulting from the crash is still unclear.
