Plane crash near Florida highway results in 3 fatalities aboard, 1 injury on the ground

A small plane crashed close to a major highway in South Florida on Friday, resulting in the deaths of all three individuals aboard, as reported by Boca Raton police. Another individual on the ground sustained injuries and was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening conditions, according to a statement by an official from Boca Raton's Fire Rescue Services at a press conference on Friday afternoon. Michael LaSalle, the assistant fire chief of Boca Raton's Fire Rescue Services, mentioned that the plane experienced a "mechanical issue" after departing from the nearby Boca Raton airport. The aircraft involved was a Cessna 310, and the crash occurred just southwest of the Boca Raton airport around 10:15 a.m. Emergency responders confirmed the fatalities of all three individuals on board. In addition, another individual driving on the ground was caught in the aftermath of the crash, colliding with a tree, receiving medical attention, and then being transported to a nearby hospital. Images taken at the scene display wreckage strewn across a street and train tracks just west of Interstate 95. A bystander captured a video showing a vehicle on fire near the crash site, though it remains uncertain if this was connected to the individual on the ground. An observer shared the footage online, noting the impact the crash had on the area. The Federal Aviation Administration has confirmed that both the National Transportation Safety Board and the FAA will conduct an investigation into the incident.
