New details have emerged regarding the tragic small plane crash that occurred in Mocksville, North Carolina. A recent NTSB report revealed that the pilot of the Stinson 108 airplane had been alerted about a turtle on the runway during takeoff and was trying to avoid it. The pilot reportedly lifted the right wheel in an attempt to steer clear of the turtle, causing the wings to start rocking. Subsequently, the plane took off, but was later lost from sight behind a hangar. Unfortunately, the aircraft crashed into a densely wooded area near the runway, resulting in a fire that claimed the lives of the pilot and a passenger. Another passenger sustained injuries in the crash. The wreckage was found wedged among trees, with significant damage to the fabric and frame noted.
