Petaluma law enforcement requests information on witness for deadly collision between bicyclist and car.
The Petaluma Police Department is currently investigating a tragic car accident involving a bicyclist that occurred on Wednesday afternoon. The PPD has stated that they do not believe alcohol was a factor in the collision. The incident took place around 3 p.m. at Ely Boulevard South at Capistrano Drive, where both PPD officers and Petaluma Fire Department personnel quickly responded after receiving multiple calls from concerned residents in the neighborhood. Tragically, the bicyclist succumbed to their injuries at the scene, and their identity will not be disclosed until their family has been informed. The cause of the accident has not yet been determined.
