Pennsylvania Turnpike's eastbound section closed after fatal pedestrian accident
A section of the Pennsylvania Turnpike has been closed due to a fatal accident in Beaver County. The incident occurred overnight near milepost 14, close to the Beaver Valley interchange. The eastbound lanes between the New Castle and Cranberry interchanges are affected. Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the crash that happened around 2:30 a.m. A detour has been arranged via I-376 westbound, Rt. 422 eastbound, I-79 southbound, and back to the Turnpike at the Cranberry interchange. The victim's identity is yet to be disclosed, and details about the crash remain limited. Troopers from the Pennsylvania State Police Troop T barracks in Gibsonia are handling the investigation. The timeline for reopening the eastbound lanes is currently uncertain.
