Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run incident in Augusta
In Augusta, Georgia, authorities from the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office were called to the 900 block of Horseshoe Road on Thursday night around 9:00 pm in response to a traffic accident. Upon reaching the scene, they discovered a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle. Regrettably, the victim succumbed to their injuries after being transported to the hospital. To respect the family's privacy, the pedestrian's identity has not been disclosed at this time. The Sheriff’s Office's traffic division is currently investigating the incident, but the vehicle responsible for the accident is unidentified as it fled before officers arrived.
