Pedestrian-involved fatal crash in Asheville results in no charges.
In March, a pedestrian named Larry Lamont McQueen tragically lost his life in a car accident on Tunnel Road in Asheville. After thorough investigation, the Asheville Police Department has decided not to press charges against the driver of the 2021 Toyota Sienna involved in the incident. It was found that McQueen crossed the road outside of a designated crosswalk, and he had also been cited for impeding traffic. The police emphasized the importance of following pedestrian safety guidelines, such as using crosswalks when crossing roads. This unfortunate event marks the fifth pedestrian fatality in Asheville in 2025.
