Pedestrian dies after hit-and-run in Gaithersburg, police searching for SUV
A pedestrian has died after being struck in a hit-and-run crash early Wednesday morning in Gaithersburg, according to Montgomery County police. Officials said officers were dispatched around 4:47 a.m. to the intersection of Muddy Branch Road and West Diamond Avenue for a crash involving a pedestrian . Police said a man who was found in critical condition later died from his injuries. The driver of the striking vehicle left the scene before crews arrived, police added. SEE ALSO | One hurt after shooting in Montgomery County Police said the vehicle believed to be involved in the crash is an older-model Honda CR-V , possibly dark gray in color, with red accents and front-end damage on the left side. According to police, the vehicle was last seen traveling on Muddy Branch Road toward West Diamond Avenue. The crash remains under investigation.
