Pedestrian critically injured in Hampton collision
A pedestrian in Hampton was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle on Thursday evening in an area without a designated crosswalk. The incident occurred on West Mercury Boulevard near Martha Lee Drive. After receiving multiple 911 calls, officers arrived to find the victim with life-threatening injuries. The driver, who was heading eastbound on West Mercury Boulevard, remained at the scene and is cooperating with the authorities. The injured pedestrian received emergency care from Hampton Fire and Rescue before being taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
