Parents accused in fatal car crash involving 7-year-old son
The parents of a 7-year-old boy who tragically passed away after being hit by a car while walking home alone have been charged with involuntary manslaughter. Jessica Ivey and Samuele Jenkins face charges of felony involuntary manslaughter, felony child neglect, and misdemeanor child neglect following the incident in Gastonia, North Carolina. The boy, Legend, was struck by a vehicle while crossing the street with his older brother after leaving a grocery store. Sadly, Legend succumbed to his injuries. The parents have been taken into custody and will appear in court on June 20.
