Oswego Portillo's resumes drive-thru service post fatal crash.

The Portillo's drive-thru in Oswego, Illinois is set to reopen following a tragic incident where a car crashed into the entrance, resulting in the death of a 2-year-old boy and injuries to 12 other individuals. The drive-thru will resume operations at 3 p.m. on Monday, while the dining room will remain closed for the time being without a specified reopening date. The unfortunate event took place around 2 p.m. when a 2011 Lincoln MKZ crashed into the Portillo's on U.S. Route 34 in Oswego, with the vehicle entirely entering the restaurant. The crash left a total of 14 people injured, with eight requiring hospitalization and six receiving treatment at the scene. Fire officials noted that one victim, the 2-year-old boy, tragically passed away at the hospital, while three others sustained serious injuries. The 50-year-old woman driver was also hospitalized, with all other casualties being individuals who were inside the restaurant during the accident. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the crash.
