
OSP: 1 dead after crash involving Rumpke garbage truck in Clinton County
The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash involving a Rumpke garbage truck in Clinton County. It happened around 12:40 p.m. in the 4600 block of State Route 73, in Union Township. According to OSP, the crash involved a Rumpke garbage truck and another passenger vehicle. In a statement, Rumpke said a passenger vehicle traveled to the left of the center line and struck a garbage truck. The driver of the passenger vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. The garbage truck driver was uninjured. "This is a tragic accident, and our thoughts are with everyone involved," said Bridgett Biggs, Rumpke's safety manager. "We are working with the Ohio State Highway Patrol to conduct a thorough investigation to determine exactly what occurred today." OH-73 will be closed as crews continue to investigate.
