One woman dead, another injured in late-night Taunton crash
One woman is dead and another was injured in a single-car crash in Taunton, Massachusetts late Friday night.The collision occurred in the area of 266 County Street around 11:15 p.m.According to the Bristol County District Attorney's Office, responding officers found a 2001 Honda Accord with heavy driver's side damage resting against a telephone pole, with two young women still in the car.The driver was identified as Selina Mendez, 26, of Taunton. She was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.The passenger, a 23-year-old woman, was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.The cause of the crash remains under investigation by Taunton police and the district attorney's office.No further information was immediately available.
