Sheriff Brian Heino confirmed this fatality and noted extensive damage to the aircraft. Authorities were alerted as the plane caught fire, and the Ferndale Volunteer Fire Department responded to the incident. The National Transportation Safety Board has been informed about the crash. This marks the fourth plane crash in Flathead County, with two previous incidents resulting in fatalities since late July.
