One person killed in collision involving Commuter Rail on South Shore
One individual tragically lost their life when an MBTA Commuter Rail train collided with a vehicle at the Beechwood Street railroad crossing in Cohasset over the weekend. The incident took place at around 11:20 a.m. on Saturday, resulting in the man's death. Cohasset police reported that approximately 40 passengers remained on the train by 1:45 p.m. Saturday, with shuttle buses arranged to transport them out of the vicinity. Train operations were disrupted following the crash, with subsequent MBTA announcements detailing train terminations and shuttle bus accommodations for affected passengers. The cause of the accident and the timeline for resuming normal train services remain under investigation. As of now, the identity of the deceased individual has not been disclosed.
