One person injured in Terre Haute accident
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— An individual in a wheelchair was struck while crossing the street on Wednesday afternoon, police said. According to Lt. Justin Sears with the Terre Haute Police Department, officers responded to reports of a car versus pedestrian accident just before 3 p.m. at the intersection of 13th Street and Locust Street. Officials added that a vehicle struck someone crossing the street in a wheelchair. According to Sears, the individual in the wheelchair sustained non-life-threatening injuries, including scrapes and bruising. The individual was transported to a local hospital by the Terre Haute Fire Department for further evaluation as a precautionary measure. Sears said that the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
