One person hurt in car crash in Paris
A young person from Utica is currently hospitalized following a midday incident in Paris, as reported by the Oneida County Sheriffs. The event took place at the junction of State Route 8 and Oneida Street in Paris, around noon on Monday, July 21. After further examination, it was discovered that a 16-year-old minor, whose name remains undisclosed due to their age, was operating a motorcycle heading east on Oneida Street. Approaching the intersection with State Route 8, the minor failed to give way to traffic and endeavored to proceed eastward. Consequently, the motorcycle crossed State Route 8 and collided with the vehicle driven by 62-year-old Susan Carney from West Winfield, who was traveling south on State Route 8. The minor was then airlifted to Upstate Medical University in Syracuse for medical attention, with reports indicating that the injuries are not life-threatening. Fortunately, Carney did not sustain any injuries from the collision. The issuance of any citations remains unconfirmed. The efforts of Edwards Ambulance from Chadwicks, the Clayville Fire Department, and Mercy Flight were instrumental, accompanying the Oneida County Sheriff's Office at the scene.
