One fatality, one injury in Burlington crash
A fatal two-vehicle collision occurred in Burlington on Tuesday evening, resulting in one fatality and one injury. The incident took place at 7 p.m. in the 4000 block of Burlington Pike. According to the Boone County Sheriff's Office, a Honda Fit was traveling westbound on Burlington Pike when it veered across the double yellow line, colliding with an eastbound vehicle. The driver of the Honda, identified as 26-year-old Tyler Herald, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The Boone County Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstruction Unit is looking into the incident, citing speed and failure to stay in the lane as potential causes of the crash.
