One dead in crash involving bicycle and vehicle, coroner says
The Anderson County Coroner's Office was called to a crash involving a bicycle and a vehicle. Anderson County 911 received a call on Friday at around 1:40pm for a motor vehicle accident involving a car and a bicycle on Highway 24 at Muriel Lane.The coroner arrived to find one person dead in the roadway. The coroner identified the victim as 56-year-old Christopher Scott Stecker of Anderson.Preliminary investigation shows the victim was riding his bicycle on Highway 24 when he cut in front of another car driving the same direction and was hit causing him to be thrown from the bicycle.The crash remains under investigation by the coroner's office and South Carolina Highway Patrol.
