
Ohio police pursuit results in crash on Pennsylvania Turnpike, closing eastbound lanes
A dramatic pursuit that began in Ohio concluded with a crash and the suspect being wounded by law enforcement. The aftermath of the crash, which involved a stolen police car, led to the closure of the eastbound lanes of the Pennsylvania Turnpike in North Sewickley Township, Beaver County. Law enforcement, emergency responders, and the coroner are still active at the scene. The Ohio State Highway Patrol reported that the suspect, initially involved in a chase on the Ohio Turnpike, fought with a trooper after crashing his own vehicle, attempted to take the trooper's gun, and then stole the patrol car, eventually crashing it on the Pennsylvania Turnpike. The suspect was fatally shot by Pennsylvania State Police outside the Homewood Borough, Beaver County. The investigation into the incident is currently ongoing.
