Ohio Man, 71, Killed in Morning Crash
Tragedy struck in Flushing, Ohio as a 71-year-old man from Belmont County lost his life early Sunday morning in a fatal crash. Taking place on March 23 around 2:10 a.m. on State Route 149, the Ohio State Highway Patrol reported that Michael Barto of Flushing was driving eastbound on SR 149 in a 2023 Kia Sportage when his vehicle drifted off the left side of the road, colliding with two parked vehicles on the north side of the highway. Fortunately, the parked vehicles were empty at the time of the crash. Barto was declared dead at the scene, with the authorities launching an investigation into the incident. Flushing EMS and Fire Department, Belmont County Sheriff's Office, Belmont County Coroner, and Braden's A1 Towing provided assistance at the scene.
