Ohio 2 collision involving two cars
Early Sunday morning, a collision occurred on Ohio 2 involving a minivan and a sedan, prompting the response of first responders. The incident, which took place around 1:30 a.m., resulted in both vehicles coming to a halt in a ditch beside the eastbound lanes. The Ohio State Highway Patrol identified the drivers as a 29-year-old Huron man operating the minivan and a 20-year-old Huron man driving the sedan. Reportedly, the minivan veered out of its lane onto the shoulder where the sedan was parked due to an unknown mechanical issue. The minivan then veered off the road and down an embankment; fortunately, the 29-year-old driver, who was wearing a seatbelt, emerged unscathed. Conversely, the sedan's driver was ejected from the vehicle and sustained serious injuries. Following treatment by Huron Township EMTs, he was transported to a local hospital and later flown by medical helicopter to a Cleveland Hospital for further medical care. The crash occurred approximately 2.5 miles east of the Milan Road interchange. The vehicles incurred varying degrees of damage, with the sedan notably landing upside down. Tow companies were called to retrieve the vehicles from the ditch, while law enforcement ruled out alcohol intoxication as a factor in the incident.
