
Officials report 2 dead, 1 injured in dump truck crash at Boone County restaurant
A tragic accident occurred in Union, Kentucky, resulting in two fatalities and one person critically injured following a collision involving a dump truck. Although the events leading up to the crash were not disclosed by officials, the Boone County Sheriff's Office confirmed that two vehicles were involved, and the incident took place at the junction of U.S. 42 and Beaver Road, near Boonedocks Pub and Grub. The two individuals who lost their lives and the injured person, who was transported to UC Medical Center, were all occupants of the same car. Thankfully, the dump truck driver emerged unharmed. Witnesses shared photos showing the truck partially inside the restaurant. Amanda Dearing, an employee at Boonedocks, recounted being inside the restaurant during the collision and the chaos that followed. Restaurant owners Leslie Lovelace and Melissa Kroth emphasized the value of human life over material possessions and expressed sympathy for the affected families. The intersection where the tragedy occurred has been cordoned off by police for further investigation.
