Officials disclose initial information on Rochester bus crash in Pembroke - Hindustan Times
A tour bus carrying 52 individuals on their way back to New York City from Niagara Falls crashed on Interstate 90 near Pembroke, located about 25 miles from Buffalo, last Friday. The bus accident led to several fatalities, entrapments, and injuries, as reported by Trooper James O’Callaghan of the New York State Police. The passengers that included individuals of Indian, Chinese, and Filipino descent were tragically impacted by the incident. While the cause of the accident is being investigated, it is known that the driver survived the crash. Most passengers were not wearing seat belts, which led to many being ejected from the bus due to the heavy impact. Following the crash, a section of the highway was shut down in both directions to manage the situation. Governor Kathy Hochul has also been briefed on the devastating accident and is working with local authorities on the response.
