Official statement: 6 fatalities in Osceola County incident on State Road 60
Florida Highway Patrol troopers were called to a tragic head-on collision on Saturday evening along State Road 60 west of South Kenansville Road that resulted in the loss of six lives. The incident involved a 2024 Hyundai Tucson and a 2011 semi-truck with trailer. Initial findings suggest that the Hyundai driver attempted to pass vehicles by entering the opposing lane, lost control upon returning to their lane, and collided with the semi-truck, causing a fiery crash. All six occupants of the Hyundai, believed to be three adults and three children, were pronounced dead at the scene. The semi-truck driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to Indian River Hospital.
