Officer injured in fatal collision on SB 405 in Los Angeles
A fatal multi-vehicle collision resulted in the closure of the southbound lanes of the 405 Freeway in the Brentwood area of Los Angeles on Monday morning. The incident, near Moraga Drive, involved a pickup truck and a sedan with significant damage, one victim pronounced dead at the scene, and two others injured, including an unconscious officer. The officer, whose department was not identified, was seen receiving medical attention at the scene before being transported to a hospital. Another victim was also taken to a local hospital for treatment. The crash led to a helicopter landing on the freeway to aid in transporting the injured parties. As of 4:30 a.m., the southbound lanes remained shut, and details regarding the cause of the accident were still unknown.
