Taressa Flores described the traumatic scene, while her husband, Thomas Flores, recalled hearing the loud impact. The crash involved an 18-wheeler hitting stalled traffic, causing fatalities and critical injuries. Upon arriving at the scene, the nurses sprang into action, with Thomas putting out a fire caused by the crashed truck. The Flores couple, both nurses, offered their training and comfort to the victims during the tragic event. Despite witnessing previous tragic incidents on the same highway, they expressed their sorrow for not being able to save everyone but felt grateful they could be there to provide solace to those affected.
