Nurse killed in Sacramento medical helicopter crash
A tragic event occurred when one of the crew members, a nurse named Susan "Suzie" Smith from REACH Air Medical Services, passed away due to injuries sustained in a helicopter crash on Highway 50 in Sacramento. Two other crew members, pilot Chad Millward and paramedic Margaret "DeDe" Davis, are in critical but stable condition. The incident took place as the helicopter experienced an "in-air emergency," crashing just after leaving a hospital following a patient drop-off. Despite the crash, the responding team, led by Sacramento Fire Capt. Peter Vandersluis, managed to rescues the trapped paramedic efficiently with the help of passersby. The authorities are conducting investigations to determine the cause of the Airbus EC-130 T2 helicopter crash.
