
NTSB seeks images, footage of New York City helicopter accident
The National Transportation Safety Board is requesting the public's help in providing photos or videos related to the recent New York City helicopter crash that resulted in the tragic deaths of six individuals. Individuals with any relevant information are encouraged to email [email protected]. NTSB Chair Jennifer Homendy emphasized the importance of sharing any details, no matter how seemingly insignificant they may appear. The incident, which occurred when a tourist helicopter crashed into the Hudson River between New York and New Jersey, claimed the lives of the pilot and all passengers on board, including Agustin Escobar, a Siemens executive, his wife, and their three children. Homendy stressed that the cause of the crash has not yet been determined as the investigation is still in its early stages. Dive teams are actively working to recover various parts of the wreckage, such as the rotor and tail section of the helicopter. The agency has previously issued safety recommendations for passenger operations, with a commitment to ensuring consistent safety standards in all forms of travel.
