NTSB probes Florida peanut field plane crash

The National Transportation Safety Board is currently examining a tragic plane crash that occurred in Williston over the weekend. The Levy County Sheriff's Office confirmed that the aircraft, a multi-engine Beech Baron, was carrying three individuals when it crashed into a peanut field. Regrettably, no survivors have been found. The pilot, on a return journey from Kentucky and planning to refuel in Williston, reportedly lost control during the final moments of the flight, leading to a rapid descent said to be more than 3,000 feet per minute. Aviation experts suggest that the catastrophic event unfolded swiftly, leaving little time for corrective action. Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the crash, analyzing factors such as the plane's engines, flight data, weather conditions, and more. An initial report is expected from the NTSB within the next 30 days.
