NPD: Man dies following motorcycle crash on Helmick St.
NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Norfolk Police said a man is dead after a motorcycle crash on Helmick Street Monday afternoon. According to officials, around 3:30 p.m. on Monday, officers and first responders were dispatched to the 100 block of Helmick Street for reports of a serious crash involving a motorcycle. Officers arrived to the scene and found a man, later identified as 21-year-old Xavier W. Rochon, suffering from life-threatening injuries. Rochon was then taken to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries. An investigation revealed that Rochon lost control of the motorcycle while driving and hit a curb. Alcohol and speed are not considered to be contributing factors to the crash. Check with WAVY.com for updates.
