Norwalk man accused in deadly moped accident

A man from Norwalk has been arrested and charged in connection with a deadly moped accident that occurred in April. Chrishod Johnson, 33, was taken into custody for manslaughter in the second degree with a motor vehicle, driving under the influence, and violating a restricted license. The collision took place early in the morning on April 13 at the West Avenue and Reed Street intersection. Emergency services responded to 911 calls reporting the crash involving a moped and a vehicle. Tragically, the moped operator, Jose Olavarria, passed away from his injuries at a nearby hospital. Johnson's bail is $50,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on August 14.
