A collision has caused the closure of all northbound lanes on Southfield Road at the intersection with 8 Mile Road in Southfield, Michigan. The Michigan Department of Transportation reported this incident on Tuesday morning, attributing it to an accident that occurred just before 8:15 a.m. The entrance ramp to northbound Southfield Road (M-39) from 8 Mile Road is also shut down. Traffic cameras in the area displayed a standstill in all lanes behind the crash at 8:45 a.m. The mile roads in Southfield and Farmington Hills have experienced increased congestion due to a significant construction project on Interstate 696 that started on March 1.
