No ticket given for Indian Trail crash

The Johnson City Police did not issue any tickets in an incident where a pickup truck crashed into Indian Trail Middle School last week. Upon arriving at the scene on Friday, the driver indicated that his vehicle's accelerator had malfunctioned, preventing him from stopping. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the incident did not require a school evacuation or lockdown. The JCPD explained on Tuesday that no citations were given for the accident, considering it as an unfortunate event with no signs of deliberate or reckless behavior. Since the vehicle wasn't in operation on a public roadway or involved in criminal activity, no traffic laws were violated. Despite the crash occurring right as school dismissal began, it did not disrupt the dismissal procedures, confirmed by the JCPD.
