No charges in fatal Green Lake car-bike crash
An 85-year-old driver will not be charged with a crime in connection to a tragic accident that resulted in the death of a 12-year-old boy in Green Lake earlier this summer. The police announced this decision, stating that after investigating the incident, they found the driver, Jean Woolley, was not criminally negligent. Surveillance footage from before the crash, along with photos from the scene, provide a detailed view of the events leading up to the tragedy. Woolley expressed deep remorse in police body-camera footage, explaining that the accident occurred when she mistakenly pressed the accelerator instead of the brake. Although the boy's mother, Angela Zodrow, is disappointed by the decision not to press charges, records show Woolley has faced citations related to the incident. Woolley has been advised by her lawyer not to comment publicly on the crash. The police have submitted a report to the state for a review of Woolley’s driving ability, while the family of the victim continues to cope with the loss.
