No charges for police in fatal Baltimore I-95 pursuit and crash, says Attorney General's office

The Maryland Attorney General's Office has concluded that no charges will be filed against the police officers involved in a June pursuit that led to a fatal crash under the Interstate 95 overpass in Baltimore. Gabriel Omar Castillo, 54, lost control of his vehicle and died, along with passenger Ezequiel Eduardo Garcia-Chicas, after nearly colliding with a Maryland Transportation Authority police car. The incident began around 2:18 a.m. on June 4 when Castillo drove erratically on northbound I-95. As the officer attempted a traffic stop, Castillo sped up, ultimately crashing his car under the I-95 overpass. The Attorney General's Independent Investigations Division completed its review on Sept. 9.
