Nine people injured in two-vehicle collision on 15 Freeway in San Bernardino County

A two-car collision on I-15 just north of Baker sent nine individuals to the hospital on Sunday morning, as reported by firefighters. Emergency responders arrived at the crash site around 5 a.m. following reports of the incident. While the cause of the crash remains unclear, all nine occupants from the two vehicles sustained injuries requiring hospitalization. The severity of their injuries varied from moderate to severe, as confirmed by the San Bernardino County Fire Department. Both cars involved were significantly damaged. To transport the injured, four ground ambulances and three medical helicopters were dispatched, leading to a temporary shutdown of traffic on the freeway for safe helicopter landings. An additional helicopter was later sent to meet one of the ambulances at a nearby hospital to continue transport. Fortunately, the freeway has since been reopened to traffic.
