New Orleans police probe fatal collision in New Orleans East
New Orleans police are looking into a fatal accident that took place in New Orleans East on Tuesday evening. The incident involved a collision between two trucks at the Almonaster and Jourdan intersection around 4:01 p.m. Emergency services transported two individuals to the hospital, while sadly, one person lost their life. The New Orleans Police Department reported injuries to a man who was outside the SUV and another individual inside the vehicle. Tragically, a woman who was also inside the SUV passed away. NOPD explained that the SUV came to a stop in the westbound lane of Almonaster Avenue, and the driver of a dump truck crashed into the vehicle, causing it to go airborne and overturn on the median. Fortunately, the dump truck driver emerged uninjured from the incident. The authorities are currently present at the scene, conducting an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash. No further details have been disclosed at this time.
