New details on Turlock crash, fatal victim identified, 1 person hospitalized
(FOX40.COM) — The Turlock Police Department released new details of a crash that killed one person and hospitalized another on Saturday. TPD said officers responded to reports of a crash around 3:45 p.m. in the 1300 block of South Washington Road and arrived to find two cars with significant damage. One of the drivers, identified as 67-year-old Jose Blancas of Turlock, was found pinned inside his car, police said. Personnel with the Turlock Fire Department performed an extrication to remove him and attempted life-saving measures. Officials said that Blancas was pronounced dead at the scene despite efforts. The occupants of the other car cooperated with officers, and one person was taken to the hospital for a minor injury, TPD said. The Turlock Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating the crash. Anyone with information is asked to contact Officer Alberti at 209-668-6537.
