New Charges Filed in Deadly Accident That Took Lawrenceburg Woman's Life

The newsletter reports that charges have been refiled against Cory Lyon, a 51-year-old from Aurora, following a fatal accident involving a pedestrian in Dearborn County, Ind. Lyon was arrested on September 5, 2024, after the incident at the intersection of U.S. 50 and Front Street in Lawrenceburg. The victim, Ashley Quicksall, 39, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Lyon's initial charges were dismissed in May, but a new probable cause affidavit revealed that he was allegedly under the influence of alcohol and THC during the crash. The charges Lyon now faces include Operating a Vehicle Causing Death with Schedule I or II Controlled Substance, Operating a Vehicle while Intoxicated Causing Death, Operating a Vehicle Causing Death with an Alcohol Concentration of .08 or Higher, Reckless Homicide, Operating a Vehicle while Intoxicated Endangerment, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Paraphernalia.
