NCSHP investigates U.S. 70 tow truck crash that killed Bailey man in Craven County
A Bailey man was killed in a crash involving a rollback tow truck on U.S. 70 in Craven County, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol. Troopers said the crash happened around 12:16 p.m. July 13 on U.S. 70 near mile marker 436. According to the investigation, 49-year-old Tracy Perry of Bailey was traveling east on U.S. 70 in a rollback tow truck when the vehicle traveled partially off the roadway and entered the median. Troopers said the tow truck then struck the median cable barrier, overturned, and came to rest on its roof in the median. Perry was the only person in the vehicle, and no other vehicles were involved. Troopers said Perry died from his injuries at the scene.
