Murfreesboro man killed in motorcycle crash along Old Hickory Boulevard
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A 28-year-old Murfreesboro man was killed in a motorcycle crash earlier this week, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department. The MNPD said the crash happened around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Stone Brook Drive and Old Hickory Boulevard. Metro police said the motorcyclist was riding west a Harley Davidson when witnesses reported he went around traffic on the sidewalk. Police then said he crossed over three lanes int oncoming traffic before returning back into a westbound lane and crashing into the back of a pickup truck that had stopped at a traffic light. He was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he was declared deceased. Police added he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The truck driver was not injured and showed no signs of impairment, per police. The motorcyclist was not identified as efforts are underway to notify his next of kin, the MNPD added.
