Multiple people sustain serious injuries in intense pursuit crash in West Los Angeles

A suspect driving a stolen vehicle led Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department deputies on a chase, during which they threw car batteries out the window. This caused a fiery crash involving multiple vehicles that left five people injured on Wednesday evening. The driver, wanted for the chase, may face charges of assault with a deadly weapon for tossing the batteries. The crash on the 10 Freeway involved at least three vehicles, one of which caught fire. Four individuals sustained serious injuries and were taken to the hospital, while a fifth person had minor injuries. Two suspects were among those injured and were apprehended and taken to the hospital. Emergency responders and law enforcement were seen on the scene, attending to the injured and extinguishing the fire. Thankfully, there were no reports of deputies being harmed during the pursuit.
