
Multiple fighting for their lives after two-vehicle crash on Route 1 in Chesterfield
CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Multiple people are fighting for their lives after police said they were injured in a crash on Route 1 in Chesterfield County. According to the Chesterfield County Police Department, the two-vehicle crash occurred at the 16400 block of Route 1 at 2:57 a.m. on Monday, March 31. Officials said the preliminary investigation shows that a blue 2016 Toyota Tacoma was heading north on Route 1 when it crossed over the center lane and hit a white 2022 Toyota Corolla that was heading south in the southbound lane. As of around 8 a.m. on Monday, Route 1 was closed in both directions between Happy Hill Road and Woods Edge Road. Police said this section was expected to remain closed for an extended period of time. Multiple people are facing life-threatening injuries, according to police. Officials continue to investigate.
